Magic Moments in Toronto

Leo fans in Toronto will have the chance to meet Leo and see his Magic Moments concert at the end of this month!

On the 29 May, Leo will be appearing at the official press conference and autograph session at Market Village in East Markham at 5pm. He will be joined by his special guests Theresa Fu, Kary Ng, Siufay and No.6.

The concert will be held on 30 May at Rogers Centre. Tickets can be purchased at these locations.

Leo to carry the Olympic flame

Leo has been chosen to be one of the 120 torch-bearers for the Hong Kong leg of the relay on 2 May!

The torch will be transported by running, vehicle, dragon boat and ferry. I wonder which one Leo will be taking...

Hopefully the relay will be smooth, as there have been issues with protesters in other countries.

Leo Ku to Record Mandarin Album after Mainland Concerts

A singing cum autograph session to promote 'Moments' was held at Metro City yesterday, in conjunction with an exhibition to encourage recycling and creativity.

At the event, Leo urged students to dig into their potential and build a better future. He added that his favourite childhood game was paper-folding, and he used to create gun or plane models from ice-cream sticks. On the mischievous side, he had also played 'flying slippers' along the corridor. When trying out some robots invented by students at the event, he said," Students these days know how to invent robots, how great. I only knew how to throw slippers when I was young."

Leo then demonstrated some steps from his 'robot dance', while a few fans on stage followed along. He teased them jokingly, "You look like you're playing taichi in the park at 6am!" When Leo heard there were close to a thousand people queuing for his autograph, he joked, "My feet just went weak. My hands will definitely feel sore later."

Leo, who has just completed 6 nights of concert, has no time to rest. He said, "I don't have any holiday, since most of the work has been arranged long time ago. There will be a series of concerts in Mainland later on, then I'll have to start recording a Mandarin album. I won't have any long holidays this year." He then revealed with great delight that his new album has almost reached platinum sales (40,000 copies), and said," The concert high still remains in me. I'm glad that responses to the concert have been very positive, hopefully plans to stage a part 2 can be realised."

Vivian Chow visits Leo's daughter

Did the title manage to shock anyone? haha .. i was looking through the newspaper (Australian Chinese Daily) the other day (after not being bothered for a very long time) and coincidentally there was something leo :)

I haven't that much time at the moment, but i will translate this roughly.

Now now, for those who don't understand, don't misinterpret the title XD.. its leo's dear daughter Khamuk, in chinese, they wrote it as "ka man" ... whom Vivian sponsored through world vision then "gave" Leo.

When Vivian presented Leo with a photo of Khamuk, everyone said that their noses were very alike. After Vivian has seen Khamuk in person who is now 9 years old and has a very sweet smile, she said, "Leo, your daughter is a lot like you, especially when she smiles, LOOK!" ... Khamuk also drew a picture, asking Vivian to help her give it to Leo.

When Leo recieved his present, he was very happy, he said:"I'm really happy. In the time I'm using to sponsor Khamuk, watching her grow is already a very exciting thing, on top of that, i'm able to help her family, making them able to depend on themselves, it makes me more feel more satisfying."

Wow :) there we go. a daughter for Leo. She seems SOOO sweet :):) drawing a picture for leo ^^ .. how fortunate she is to have leo as a dad XDXD

Oh, and i apologise for the really rushed and brief and bad translation. Two of my three phones have now stuffed and i've got a lot to do ><

Women, I admire you! (13/06/2007, today!)

Although at the end of the trip around European for shooting ended with an episode with lost luggage, it was definately a fruitful journey. Other than the photos and the 'special' we filmed, I have made new friends and gained more life experiences.

First stop in Europe: Scotland.
First new friend: Darren.

When having a look around Scotland's famous distillery, I wouldn't have imagined that Darren would tell me that he had prepared a set of traditional Scottish dress for me (kilt)! "Oh my god!!" I shouted with my eyes wide open.

I have always been a person who believes that "you only live once", but I thought, I don't have any 'under' pants (like tights or shorts) prepared, and froze for a couple of seconds. But in the end, of course I wore it!

I guess you will be quite curious as to what my feelings were right after I put on the kilt. At the time, my mind had six words 「女人，佩服你們！」women, I admire you!

The top hald of the traditional Scottish clothes are in fact very normal, similar to a suit I would wear for work, but for the bottom half, really lack in the feeling of safety! Having a look at myself with those clothes on, at a glance I seem like female senior high school student!

Wearing the "uniform" while exploring the distillery, going up and down stairs, especially in the windy outdoors, you really need to worry left, worry right, fearing the possibility of being exposed.

I was curious and asked Darren, "... do you ... , under the kilt, have you prepared any security down there?"

He laughed and said, "I'm not going to tell you. But for the traditional Scottish kilt, we wouldn't wear underwear! You can take a guess, am I traditional or not? hahaha..."

I realised because I have undies to wear, it's already not bad!!

When visiting the winery, other than the new test, of course it was my first time trying a 38 year-old whisky! After taking a look at each part of the distillery we visited the fermenting area (? - confused with chinese alcohol talk), As a person who doesn't really knows how to drink, I drank the precious liquid in the glass and thought, "If Paco came here, he'll definately wouldn't want return to Honk Kong!"
　　
In the end, I wanted to say to Darren, "When you come to H.K. next time, I'll show you all the goodies!!"

Currently there will be 4 concerts (Sept 7-10) but considering what happened last year, it's hard to say how many it may end up being!

Opening Ceremony of Leo and Kubi's Wax Statues at Madame Tussauds

The opening ceremony for Leo and Kubi's wax statues was held at Madame Tussauds HK yesterday. Seeing his own statue, Leo couldn't help touching its chest, then immediately complimented," Very solid!"

The wax statue is made to such detail that it even has nose hair. Leo commented that the statue looks exactly like him, regardless of features and figure. He said," It's quite muscular, but I put on some weight recently, so it should have a bit more 'pork belly'." When asked if he's afraid of the statue being 'molested', he personally is not worried and joked that the statue might yell "No!" if it was touched by strangers. In fact, Leo's parents wanted to visit the museum yesterday to catch a glimpse of this 'son', but postponed their trip in case it was too crowded.

Leo's wax figure is displayed wearing the first set of costume in 《勁歌金曲》 concert, as Leo finds it very memorable. Moreover, it was Kubi's 3rd birthday yesterday, which made it a double celebration. Leo hopes to carry on with this 'Father & Son' pair in the future as well. Earlier on, Leo spent 5 hours just to get all parts of his body measured, including his eyelashes.

Even though I've been a little lazy with the blog, for work I actually have a lot of projects in progress or in preparation. I think that I will go crazy soon but at the same time, it will be very interesting!

Recently I have been focussing on production work which doesn't require meeting the media. I have also grown a beard for fun. Ha... ... I am quite satisfied with this look, what do you guys think? *************************************************************************************

忘記蘇民峰有否說過，人在剛踏入豬年會有點懶惰，所以……嘻…做了大懶PIG！

Leo and Kubi in Madame Tussauds soon

Leo and his self-created comic character Kubi will venture into Madame Tussauds HK coming April, hence becoming the first pair of singer and comic character to be included in the wax museum.

Leo had a full body measurement for the production of the wax sculpture in November last year. Moreover, the professionals carried out colours comparison against his hair, eyes, teeth, and took more than hundred pictures, the whole process consuming around five hours. Leo said," The body measurement process was an eye opener, the sculptor measured the lengths and sizes of around two hundred parts of my body, including those which measurements I did not normally notice. The process was indeed a meticulous one."

According to the wax museum, Leo is ranked one of the most popular local singers based on a survey carried out, therefore he is selected to have a life size sculpture after him displayed in the musuem. In time to come fans will be able to have close contact with Leo and Kubi, and are also welcome to join an interactive game themed around Kubi.

Leo Ku Recieves Big Red Packet from Paco Wong

After taking a few days off for the CNY, Leo Ku yesterday returned to work. The singer attended a CNY celebration at Times Square where he added the finishing touch to awake the lion and wished everyone well with the God of Wealth. Leo disclosed that during his break, he has been playing mahjong, thus winning quite a lot of money. He then revealed his habit of saving up all the lucky money he received during CNY and that from rough calculations, he has approximately saved up tens of thousands of dollars. Leo happily said that he will still continue his tradition even when he is old. When asked when will he get married and hand out lucky money, Leo laughed and changed the subject. The singer told the media that he had received a big red packet from Paco Wong when he ate CNY dinner with his colleagues.

Leo Ku's Unpleasant Valentines Day Experience

Leo turned up for a charity event for his Medical Fund at a HK shopping mall yesterday. In order to raise more fund, with any purchase of Kubi Fortune Bag, there is an additional opportunity to take picture with Leo just by donating an extra 50HKD. As expected, this received very good response from fans and the public.

Valentine's Day is 2 days away, Leo admitted that this is the celebratory event he fears most, as the media will definitely ask how he plans to celebrate, otherwise, when he plans to look for a partner. Luckily, he will be in Mainland China on V-day this year, which saves him from further rounds of interrogation. When asked if he has given flowers to girlfriends before, he replied that he has only done it once in his life so far, but it was not a pleasant experience. He elaborated," My initial plan was to give 2 dozens of white rose, but the florist gave me white chrysantemum intead." He personally finds giving presents are more rational than flowers, adding that he has given purse and pager to his ex-girlfriends before.

To Leo, Valentine's Day is not just a day to give away presents; it is a day to receive presents too. Apart from the earlier scary blood-written love letter by an extreme fan previously, he has also received touching gifts before. After performing at Vancouver last year, a local fan gave him a thoughtful present, which was a mini refrigerator with a small snowman in it. When asked if he would give flowers to his assistant, Leo replied," I'll give salary to my assistant instead!"

Leo Ku Injures Eye @ Windows Vista Event

Leo Ku yesterday attended a Windows Vista promotion event but his left eye was unfortunately injured by a flying paper bomb that was released at the event. The eye caused so much pain that Leo was left holding his hand over it, the paper bomb had caused a small blood vessel to pop. But the singer endured the pain for the whole function and only left to see a doctor when the function had ended. When leaving the doctors, Leo told reporters that his retina had been mildly scratched, his eye cornea was swelling and that his intraocular pressure was too high. The doctor had given him treatment and told Leo to come back in two days time for a check-up.

Leo disclosed that when the paper bomb hit his eye, it felt like someone had punched his eyeball and that he also felt dizzy. His vision was also blurred. At first, he was worried that the injury might affect his vision but thankfully, after seeking for help at the hospital, the doctor told him that his eye was safe. When asked if he will be demanding for compensation from the event’s organiser, Leo expressed that he finds no point in doing so because accidents can not be foretold.

Microsoft and Leo? What's the connection?

I'm sure most of you know that Microsoft launched Windows Vista and Office 2007 on Tuesday, but what does this have to do with our dear Leo?

Well, good old Microsoft are having a "Wow" Experience Day this Weekend (3 & 4 Feb) at Times Square, where they will be having their "First sale". The operating system and the office suite will be selling for a damn cheap $699 HKD.

Where's Leo in all this you say? On the Saturday, Leo, Stephy and Alex will be making an appearance at 2:30pm where they will "Wow" attendees with the Microsoft products.

Gold Label Singers to Hold Jazz Concert

A group of Gold Label singers will be staging a Jazz Music Show at Wanchai Exhibition centre on 17th March. Leo, Edmund, William, Joey Tang, Mark, Justin etc took pictures for the promotional poster yesterday.

The theme of this time's concert is light jazz, so the singers will be singing their opted songs in this style, for example Leo chose to sing Alex To's 《愛已變了世界襯衣》 (Oi Yi Bin Liu Sai Gai Chan Yi), Theresa chose Vivian's 《自作多情》 etc. The singers will also have crossover sessions to deliver medleys, while a concert live record will be released after this performance.

William and Leo both hope to release a full jazz album, Leo said," I have been thinking of this idea for a long time, but this has to be discussed with the company over a long period to strike a balance. This project has to be far-sighted, but it definitely is one of my targets." On the other hand, William said," I released such album previously, the results were pretty satisfying. Recently I admire the newcomers a lot, eg Hins, Khalil and Kay. They all have their own styles, so I'm requesting for a song from Khalil for my upcoming album."

The singers were more excited with the chance of gathering together. Leo said," This is a collaboration with the singers of the same company. We normally chat or play video games with one another, but this time we can perform together, it's a valuable experience. Our company has always been united, we feel like a family under Paco's guidance."

Leo's finally getting married after 12 years relationship with PA?

Ok, yes its THIS again. TT i'm so sick of this news .. i'm only interested in it if Leo actually steps out and says that all this is true or that he has someone else. haha which is impossible because Leo has previously said even if he had a girlfriend he wouldn't admit it - even after they got married. But, my uncle came over this morning and brought over a 'next' magazine which had Leo all over the cover so i curiously flipped to the page and started reading.

Once again, it is simply just rumours i was some what hoping and i thought Leo had finally said something about it, but unfortunately not. They reckon it is because Leo and Lorraine were checking out apartments and tried to be so secretive about it that he had changed his usual van to another one. When asked, Leo answered saying, "I wasn't only there with Lorraine, there were other workmates there with me too." When asked about him and Lorraine, Leo simply answered "This news is so repetitive. Aren't you guys sick of it yet? Even if you guys aren't sick of asking, I'm sick of answering."
Next magazine also asked him "We heard you've asked them to keep this apartment on hold for you, so you're planning on buying that apartment?" Leo answered "I have kept my eyes on this for a while, but I haven't decided anything yet, even if I do decide to buy the apartment, I wouldn't tell you."
And the big question, "so are you and Lorraine planning to register in China?"
Leo answered, "Huh?" and according to the magazine it was "pretending as if he didn't hear"

so what do we believe ey? Last time i was in HK, around may'05, magazines reported that Leo and Lorraine had already married before Leo went to film Romance Under The Rain and now he's about to get married? so.. what to believe? Well I'll leave it up to you to decide how worthy these rumours are of believing ;)

Leo Leading 'Media Award': I'll leave it to nature

Leo won the JSG Gold Song award, but missed the Most Popular Male Singer one. Concerning this, he did not feel disappointed. In fact, he stated to be satisfied with his results and felt that the Leo in year 06 won the Leo in year 05, hence he feels thankful every time he receives awards.

Leo said," I saw Eason at the back stage after the ceremony, we congratulated each other and hugged. Both of us wish the HK music industry to improve. This is my first time getting the Gold Song award, so it is significant to me. Like what Eric said at the beginning of the ceremony - less rumours and more good songs, this is the only way HK music industry can be better."

When asked in what terms he lost such that he did not win the male singer award, Paco replied on Leo's behalf," Winning the Gold Song is already a big winner, because this award is hard to win. "Love Too Late" deserves the award, and it represents Leo's hard work for year 06. The male singer award is a matter of time, there's a need to be long-lived in this industry to carry on in the game. (Does this mean he'll win it?) This is our target."

Leo is currently leading in the Four Stations Media Award. When asked if he is confident in the final ceremony (RTHK's), he said," I'll leave it to nature." He stated that he smiled from his heart when the announcement of male singer award winner was made, and was satisfied that he could sing good songs. Paco gave further support and said," We have been winning Gold Song award for 3 consecutive years, this is our company's luck to have met good songs. This can be told from our contribution and passion for Chinese pop. (But no male singer award?) Leo is tonight's big winner.

Obviously, we all know that this awards ceremony always hands out the most awards which in my opinion, I think it is the most unworthy award ceremonies. Hi guys!
Long time no see!

I've been cut from all communication these last few weeks BUT I bring news :)

Today I was staking out at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hong Kong where a cavalcade of celebrities arrived for the presentation of the annual artists awards... and amongst them of course LEO.

Leo arrived in a black van with his hairdresser (Melbourne girls you know who he is...) and his band of assistants. My friend spotted his spiky hair through the van window so we rushed to the ground floor... (We were smart and took the back door into the hotel :p)

I have a great side shot of him walking into the reception area... he didn't say hi, I think he was late... everyone else was already there hahaha

Leo is extra busy in December!! He's doing a Roadshow, Xmas concerts and of course all the awards ceremonies... phew, poor guy

Leo, as Ambassador of Wise Electricity Usage, attended the opening ceremony of yesterday. He spread the important message of maintaning a perfect lifestyle with wise electricity usage to almost hundred children at the event.

Leo feels very honoured to be the first HK celebrity to become an Ambassador. In addition, with his interest in drawing comics, he specially wrote a preface in the comicbook released in conjunction with the scheme. Leo hopes the comic, which serves as a relaxation tool, can help to educate young children to save electricity. He said," There are many things in our daily life which run on electricity, for example washing machine (sai yi gei), television (din si gei), and even me Leo (gu gui gei). Because of electricity/power, I am able to release albums, and so everyone is able to listen to my songs. I hope everyone is inspired by , do not treasure things around you too late. We tend to take many things in life for granted, eg family, friends, but we actually have to treasure them. Electricity is just the same, although we get it just by a press on the switch, one day it might disappear if we don't treasure it."

Regarding ways to save electricity, Leo is most concerned of temperature of air conditioners. He added that there are many shopping malls which do not adjust temperature of air cons even during spring and winter, not only it is a waste of electricity, but also causes people to fall sick. He urged everyone to use electricity wisely, while working towards a better future.

As usual it's the time of the year when media starts predicting winners of different awards. It is rumoured that Best Male Singer will be a stiff competition between Leo and Eason. When asked about this at <2006> press conference, Leo replied," Really? But I'll bet on Eason to win. I don't know how to predict, and I don't mind getting Silver award. No matter what colour the award is, the important thing is we understand and care for each other."

Regarding his confidence on getting Best Song Award, Leo said," I hope wins the award. This is a song by Ivana, it would be great to win an award with her. On the other hand, I am pretty confident with too." He then revealed that he went for premiere with Eason the night before, and added," We buy each other's album as a sign of support. We seldom go out for drinks but sms each other quite often, and have a lot to chat whenever meeting up."

Leo deliberately wrote Ivana's name as Wong Yun Ji (Yun as in meatball) as she was hungry then. He initially wanted to write Ngau Yun (beefball) Ji.

Leo's Macau Concert - 26 Nov 06

Leo held a solo outdoor concert at a harbour in Macau on Saturday night. During the course of the concert, several helicopters flew past; while the lighthouse and man-made volcanoes nearby embellished the concert venue. Leo said jokingly," These are all part of our concert production, we spent huge amount of capital!"

In order to narrow his distance with fans on 'mountain top', Leo stood on an elevator which brought him more than ten feet above ground. Towards the end of the concert, a small girl approached Leo for autograph. However he mistaken her as a boy and called her 'Siu Dee Dee' a few times. Much to Leo's embarrassment, the girl's mother corrected him quickly.

During the concert, Leo delivered a number of classic songs by Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui, and Alan Tam. He presented his dancing skills, which the audience complimented him as 'slutty' enough. Besides, there was a jamming session between Leo and Joey Tang. brought the concert to an end, which Leo added," Hope everyone treasures everything around you. Thanks for devoting your precious time tonight for me."

Concerning recent rumours that Leo will win this year's TVB most famous male singer and Gold Song awards, Leo said," It's only November now, results for third season are not even out yet. I won't address to news on the Internet. Thank you for everyone's support."

McDonalds World Children's Day 2006 Concert

McDonalds World Children's Day 2006 Concert was held at Wanchai Exhibition Centre the night before. Singers who attended the event were Sandy Lam, Eason, Denise Ho, Leo, Janice and SoftHard. In conjunction with the theme, a singing competition was held among a group of kids.

While escorting a kid to perform on the stage, Leo recalled those days as a choir member when he was still small. He said," The choir comprised of 40 to 50 members. Whenever I stood at the back row, I only moved my lips to pretend singing, I felt quite cool then." Since becoming a singer, he treasures every opportunity to sing live on stage so he rarely 'pretends' to be singing anymore. At a show held in Mainland previously, he lost his voice and therefore had to appease to the organising commmittee's request to do so. At a JSG seasonal presentation ceremony earlier on, he had the same problem of losing voice, but he opted to just receive the award and did not perform.

Young-at-heart Big Kid - Leo Ku
Kids always hope to grow into adults; adults, on the other hand, hope to return to childhood. Adults develop this mentality probably because of the complicated world -- they are not able to throw tantrum or be bone idle, not to mention to do something without considering the consequences.

Therefore, many adults wish to have a kid face, and maintain a heart of innocence. Leo is most probably the best example for this. Facing a mere 3 year old Hei Hei, Leo showed his 'big kid' characteristic without constraint, bringing us back to his childhood with lots of memories.

I want to ask... Tell me why...
"What am I supposed to do while living on this earth?" Small Leo asked. "Why is this lady my mum?" "Why is the school teacher not my mum?" Small Leo asked further...
In fact, when Leo was around Hei Hei's age, he always came up with bizarre questions. However, he kept them in his heart and thought about the answers himself, as he never dared to express himself. However, Leo was not able to answer questions like this because like Hei Hei, he would come up with another question upon seeing a new toy and forget his previous question.

I want to cry, I want to laugh, I want to throw tantrum
"The loser has to be hammered on the head!" Hei Hei moved everywhere while playing with Leo, mischievous indeed. Leo was not much different when he was young, he even fell down and hurt his head so badly that he was rushed to the hospital! At that time, all he knew was to scream "Pain! Pain!". The doctor promised to give him two issues of (children's magazine then), in order to make sure Leo lie down obediently on the bed for stitches on his head. "Who knows the doctor lied to me!" Right after telling this story, Leo continued his 'hammering' game with Hei Hei, so it seems like the incident did not leave Leo with any childhood phobia!

I love to play. I can play 24 hours non stop
"I could only play with those sticks to dry clothes when there was no one at home!" It was around 11pm on the day of photography, but Hei Hei did not show any signs of tiredness and played non stop. Leo used to watch when young, and often acted together with his younger brother. "We draped bedsheets over our shoulders to act as amour, then held feather dusters and sticks (to dry clothes) in our hands, that looked so cool!" Not long after, Leo and Hei Hei had fun playing with a Lego figurine, they might have wanted to treat that figurine as Chor Lau Heung!

I wish. I dream
"My ambition was to be an artist, it has been my wish since young!". Small Leo's ambition was to have an art exhibition to let others admire his art pieces. Apart from that, Leo actually has another dream, which is to travel the whole world. "I hope the whole world will have my footprints, I wish to go everywhere! This is also to broaden my horizon."

Play Hard
Leo is a person who plays hard. For instance, on a previous work trip to Japan, the entire work crew has retired to the hotel to rest, but Leo insisted to have a game of 'toy-clipping' at the arcade. "I have to go all places before returning to the hotel, if I saw an arcade which was still open, I would enter the shop and continue playing!" Filled with excitement, Leo mentioned that he succeeded in clipping toys more than ten times in a row and the arcade staff had to put up the "Machine Broke Down" notice. His immediate reaction was," How can this happen? I just clipped more than ten toys, how can the machine break down?" Then again, he joked that not many people can reach the stage of spoiling machines, so that could be his triumphal history too!

Work Hard
That said, Leo turns into a 'master of nervousness' when he starts working. He feels the need to enjoy unrestrictedly while playing, but also to be meticulous at work. "Not only work 'hard', but also must have 'heart'. We've to give our hearts to deliver a good piece of work!" Back to those days of drama-shooting, he had to act a touching scene full of tears, therefore he forced himself to cry continuously for three days so as to immerse in the role. On the day of actual shooting, the crew was startled and asked,"What happened to your eyes?" Leo cried so badly over the past three days that his eyes could not open due to the swelling. Eventually he had to rest half a day before recovering fully. From this we can see that he is a person who works hard.

Back to the past, Retain childhood innocence
Earlier on Leo visited his alma mater. Looking at school children around him, he was reminded of those days at primary school. Many people find that "remaining young-at-heart" is a slightly derogatory term, but Leo begs to differ. "The society has changed now. People who are young at heart can be serious at work too. In addition the childhood innocence allows people to think out of the square, and so become more creative!" Thus Leo feels fortunate to have retained his precious childhood innocence, which brings more joy in his life. "There is no need to act innocent, there is also no way to act so. It is all very natural. For instance once you see Hei Hei, or my niece, I can play indulgently with them even if I'm wearing a suit right now." After reading Leo's experiences and his opinion towards 'childhood innocent', is everyone inspired to lead a happier life?

At the Rejoice event (19 Nov 06), Leo played games with sixteen pairs of couple and held an autograph session.

Leo revealed that he finds girls being prettiest when they just woke up, as they look adorable with blurry eyes and slightly unkempt hair. He said," If a girl is willing to show this side of her, this kind of love is most genuine!" When asked how many girls he has seen in this situation, he replied," No such experience, please don't misunderstand me. I've only seen those on telly. In real life, I've seen girls sleeping on busses, since I don't normally fall asleep during bus rides."

Leo likes to smell fragrance of hair. He explained that since it is impossible to see girls' faces when hugging, he can only satisfy his sense of smelling. He further revealed that over the past 4 or 5 dating experiences, he liked to rub his ex-girlfriends' hair. Leo has special liking towards girls with long hair, and hopes to help his loved one to wash her hair as the feeling is romantic. He tried drawing portraits and composing lyrics for his previous girlfriends, as to whether he is 'moistured' (blessed) with love currently, he said," Very dry."

At the function, he read aloud couples' compositions, and requested them to kiss in front of him. He joked," Once for the reporters to take photos, once to let me see."

Journalist: Blogging stirred up a frenzy in recent years. If you intend to keep in touch with a friend, you might ask," Do you have a blog? Or Xanga?" Everyone is a blogger these days.

Blog - Birth
Amidst a trend to set up celebrity blogs, Leo started one few months ago, named "My Life". Readers of celebrity blogs mostly wish to see their life behind scenes, eg function schedules, recording sessions, MV shooting clips, etc. However, if you visit Leo's blog with this expectation, you'll definitely be disappointed as Leo has a different opinion on blogs.

"If i'm just posting daily life pictures on my blog, eg pictures of me eating, napping in the car, behind scenes highlights before or after shows, there is not much significance behind it. I wish readers to benefit from reading my blog."

The benefit that Leo referred to is probably the readers' reflection on the meaning of life. This is what he wrote as his introduction on his blog: Throughout the past whole year, people and incidents around me enriched my life experience. Hopefully this platform for the souls allows you to share your life stories under different topics. Perhaps your stories will influence even more souls out there." Leo admitted being a person who is always thinking. Since young he started thinking why humans have to live in the world. Upon growing older, and accumulating life experiences, he managed to grasp a better insight into life and understood the importance in life, and the significance of staying happy and treasuring the present. Therefore he would like to create a space to share life. "I hope my blog can be a platform for sharing not only on trivial things in life, but also on deeper thoughts and reflections, and so enlighten the readers."

Souls - Assistance

Leo is a friendly person who always cares for others. On the day of interview, he had flu and was not in a good state. In addition, there was a full day recording of 15/16 the day before. Despite the tiredness, he remained courteous to answer all questions, and we felt his sincerity to reach out to blog readers through his speaking tone. He said, there are many incidents in life which trigger reflections, eg there was an earlier blog entry on him being wheelchair-bound due to back injury, eventually leading him to understand it is already a blessing to be able to walk and run. "During my recovery period, my back told me not to take ordinary things as granted, no matter how easy it is to walk with both legs." Through his own experiences, Leo hopes to remind readers to treasure their lives now.

Leo emphasises that his role is simply an originator and faciliatator - what he wishes for is readers to post their personal stories. However, he admits that in order to create a 'sharing' atmosphere, it is still necessary for the readers to not focus on his identity as singer. "Initially I was quite troubled as readers did not realise the significance of the blog, and continued treating it as a channel to communicate with me. Hence most of the time they left messages of encouragement, consolation, or compliments to my album. Luckily thereafter there are some readers who posted personal experiences to be shared among the rest, which eventually struck accordance with other readers."

"I realise a lot of Hong Kong-ers feel exhausted after a day's of work or study, and so they wish to relax their mind on the Internet. In particular, upon encountering unpleasant or stressful cases, everyone would like to have a place to whine, in the hope that someone out there understands his/her situation. Therefore I created a section in the blog, called "Vent your frustration/Seek for help". It is further categorised under work, study, relationship, friends and family, so that readers can vent their frustration in respective topics, and so prevent them from doing foolish things. Besides, supportive comments from others do serve as positive encouragement!"

Pictures - Heartwarming
The theme of Leo's blog is "Soul". He finds the most direct way to touch hearts is through pictures with captions. "Sometimes a picture speaks a thousand words. I saw a picture posted by a reader, named "Lovers in Wave". It is a picture of a pair of couple hugging tight amidst strong waves. Although half their bodies were soaked in water, they were not separated by the waves, how touching! It indicates how two people who love each other overcome hurdles together, magnifying the greatness of love."

When asked if Leo would share his art pieces on his blog, he replied," No, I created this space not to exhibit my art pieces. I could directly launch comic books if I wished to do so. Whether I would replace words with drawings, I don't think so, simply because one or two drawings cannot fully express my inner thoughts. It's more convenient to use words and pictures. I actually quite like the current way of expressing."

Although Leo hasn't posted many entries on his blog, he stated no matter how tired he is every night, he would read through new messages of the day. Due to his tight schedule, it is impossible for him to reply to the messages, but he keeps readers' words to his heart.

This cartoon that looks exactly like Leo Koo was not drawn by Leo, actually it was from his concert last year. He says, “I saw that it looks a lot like me, so I decided to use it as my wallpaper, I’ve used it for over a year now.” People always change, but cartoon characters will stay forever young, no wonder this big kid likes this cartoon so much.

Leo has alot of HIT songs, he says that he always changes his ringtone, lately his ringtone is obviously the newest Love Too Late.

Tickets to Leo's Concert in Macau are selling WELL and RAPIDLY!

Leo Ku yesterday attended a press conference in Macau for his upcoming concert which will be held on the 25th of this month. A ice sculpture of the word ‘exploding’ (爆) was present and Leo smashed the sculpture into pieces. The organisers hoped to generate the meaning of the show being a sell-out concert and a big hit. During the event, many fans gathered to shake hands with their idol. Leo, who is will known to have sweaty hands, was surprised to find his hands all dry after shaking so many fans. Regarding the ticket sales, Leo expressed that after the release, the tickets have been sold rapidly and so, the catwalk stage area has been taken down to make room for extra seats.

no surprise there of course ;) hahha considering how well his concert did in the other parts but congrats to Leo anyway ! =D kuks and monica should try and catch leo in macau hahah =D

Brief recount of 'Be My Guest' interview

Let me revisit the interview of Leo Ku on ‘Be My Guest’ being interviewed by Stephen Chan (TVB executive). I will be giving a brief recount to those people who have not yet been able to watch the interview and those who are very curious to know the ‘extra’ details of the interview especially regarding the Lorraine issue. With Carmen’s earlier post of the previews, I’m sure lots of you want to know MUCH more than that! Let the recount begin!

The interview’s ‘hot spot’ issue was Lorraine. Everyone knows that Lorraine is Leo’s personal assistant who has been by his side for many years and that we are all concerned about whether they are dating or if they have moved to a further step, such as marriage. Well according to Leo’s response, it is NO. Stephen asked a question before asking about Lorraine, he asked:

“Do you have a girlfriend now?”

Leo didn’t answer at first but when he heard the question, he had a few smiles. His answer was “If I have a girlfriend now, I would say no and even if I don’t have one, I will still say no.” His mouth was fully zipped so it is hard to predict if he really does have a girlfriend or not. As you know, Leo always says that regarding his private life matters that the media should not go beyond the ‘underwear’ which is his bottom line. (Cantonese: “Nei Yill Lau Farn Till ‘undie’ Bei Ngor Sin Duck” which means you should at least leave an underwear for me to wear.)

The next question followed was: “What is the relationship between you and Lorraine?”

Leo answered: “We are just friends. She has helped me a lot in the entertainment circle but no, the rumours of us dating is not true.”

I can tell that Lorraine is CLEARLY not involved in his love life because by the way he answered this question extremely serious compared to the girlfriend question where he let out a smile. So all Ku Scoopers, you don’t need to go shoot her (especially to Kerri & Debbie) because I am 100% sure that they are not together. The interview tells all, it is good because you can see Leo’s reaction when the question was being asked upon.

Also, I thought to add this line in..

Stephen continued and asked “I know you have more than one personal assistant, you sure you don’t have a relationship with them too? Like Carmen, Tracy..(as a joke)”

(It was amazing how Stephen mentioned Carmen’s name as one of Leo’s PA all of a sudden.)

I will not go much further about the interview anymore because it was quite long but I thought to add the important issue regarding Lorraine for all of you to know. The rest of the interview was about his return to the music industry with the help of Paco and on the occasion, Leo brought along some of his childhood photographs and some of them have not been exposed over the Internet. They also spoke of his entertainment circle friends such as Gigi Fu and Vivian Chow. Also to those who doesn’t know, Leo told in the interview that Vivian is the type of girl he likes because of her personality and every criteria suits to be his girlfriend. Just too bad she’s taken and he said it would be hard to find a girl like Vivian but he treats her only like an older sister and friend that would spend time together to play Pool.

Overall the interview was good to listen to, the part that captured me the most would probably be about the Lorraine issue. However I am still pondering about the girlfriend question because he had all smiles on his face when it was mentioned. Hopefully everyone can watch the interview soon because it’s a must watch if you want to know more about Leo and those cute photographs of him when he was little.

Leo tells all on "Be My Guest"

Leo will be appearing on the 'tell all' TV show, Be My Guest with Stephen Chan. He will appear in episode 12 which will be aired on Saturday on Cable TV.

Kerri informed me that Leo was asked about Lorraine. The commercial showed Leo respond by saying "Let's not talk about that stuff", which slightly concerns us...

It seems that the episode has already been aired in HK, so I will start scounging around for it :)
I have asked Kerri to tape the show but she warns me that the TV might be blasted/break when she does watches it.

Personally, I have mixed feelings lol... bitter-sweet? We'll see!

Hi guys...

I know that this is an overused topic re: Leo and a prospective partner... BUT who do you think would be right for him? (And we wouldn't want to break in half, and in the case of Kerri, shoot them...) I'm talking about real people and not characters from series etc etc.

I've brought this up because we've flamed and dissed 2 so far and we never seem to suggest any (viable) alternatives. We know who we DON'T want, but we don't know who we would say, yes, I'm happy for it to be her :p

After all ur responses and REASONING, I'll compile a Top 5 list or something like that :)

Remembering Zhi Hua!

Does everyone remember who Zhi Hua is? Well to those who don't remember, let me refresh all your memories. If you have watched Huan Zhu Ge Ge 3 then you would know who I am talking about. She's the one who was trying so hard to win Leo's heart (Wu Ah Ge) but never succeeded. She played Wu Ah Ge aka Yong Qi's 2nd wife. Does everyone remember her now? lol

I was going past youtube the other day and I found this clip of the girl getting close to our Leo singing 'Xu Yuan'. With those electrifying eyes of hers, no wonder why our Leo got so close to her. Watch the clip below and you will understand.

TVB 39th Anniversary Lighting Ceremony

The lighting up ceremony and press conference was held yesterday, marking the start of TVB's 39th Anniversary celebrations at Tseung Kwan O's TVB City. Accompanied by Miss Hong Kong winner Aimee Chan, Sir Run Run Shaw was in high spirits as he took part in proceedings. With TVB Divas Liza Wang and Carol Cheng at his side, he lit up the stage and over a hundred artistes were present in an atmospheric occasion. Guest performers for the event were Leo Ku and Joey Yung.

Ahh... now it's all about Leo :) Aren't we pleased?

This is the second time that Leo has been the guest at the lighting up ceremony and there are rumours that he has well and truly kicked out TVB's Godson Hacken Lee and that he will have a chance to take the Male Singer award at the end of the year. He insists that this is two separate things and people should not read too much into it. He also says that the words 'kick out' are very negative and should not be used because everything is arranged as work and he has not thought about winning awards as he will just go with the flow.

We shall see, won't we? :)

Mr. Ku Attracted To Full Lips

Leo Ku yesterday attended a promotional event for a shampoo company. For the company, Leo drew 4 portraits of females live and then swapped art works with Japanese artists, Chico Hayasaki. As Leo drew the portraits, he was afraid to look at the female models.

Leo disclosed that he only began closely looking at females when he turned 18 and mostly concentrated on their lips. When drawing females, Leo will mostly concentrate on drawing eyes, mouth and hair. The nose, as the hardest facial feature to draw, Leo will be extremely careful when drawing this bit.

When asked why he concentrated on looking at females’ lips after turning 18, Leo replied, “Because there were chances. (Did you mature quickly?) No, in comparison to the children today, it is quite late! In the past, the portraits I gave to my female friends were mostly of females! (How many accepted this gift?) 3 to 5. (What kind of lips to you find attractive on females?) Shuqi and Maggie Cheung, I like full lips.”

Maybe all that fuss about Gold Label pulling out of the Jade Stars event, was just plain publicity! Or was it a "so, it's either us - or nobody else" issue?

Nevertheless - we've got new news because according to this article, and I quote,

Hacken will soon be appearing in the "Jade Singers Celebrate TVB Anniversary" show, but he will not be a guest for the lighting up ceremony as this will be led by Leo Ku and Joey Yung.

I guess we're back to a EEG-GL collaboration, thanks to the Juicy Lemon duo! Let's see how true this is.

Leo Ku Renews Contract with Gold Label

Leo Ku has agained signed with Gold Label and to celebrate this occasion, his company used a six figure sum of money to hold a grand contract signing ceremony at a hotel function room. Also, to celebrate Leo’s new album selling a white gold number, a white gold large CD award was presented to him. Colleagues, Justin Lo, Mark Lui and the press came to support Leo at the event with his manager, Paco Wong, presenting Leo with a prize sword.

Leo, whose contract with Gold Label expires next year, denied being payed a extremely high amount of money to renew the contract but disclosed that he has been 10 times the amount he was first paid when he signed with the company a few years ago. When asked how he will be using this money, Leo expressed that he is not the kind of person who wastes money. He was then question if he had saved enough money to get married to which the cheeky singer replied that he had already gotten married with Paco.

In the future, Leo hopes to work on more movies, especially romance movies with Cecilia Cheung. But it has been reported that after getting married earlier, Cecilia wants to slowly leave the entertainment industry, when Leo heard this, he exclaimed, “Really? Well she might come back if she is interested!” Despite his initial contract expiring next year, Leo expressed that when Paco approached him about renewing his contract, he immediately agreed because he believes that trust and feelings are the most important. Leo then revealed that a few other companies had approached him but he rejected all offers because he has always wanted to stay at Gold Label.

P.S: And word has it that Gold Label has pulled the entire team out of the TVB Jade Singers Anniversary event and said they'd be doing an event in Mainland instead. The question now is, what are we going to watch without Leo/Justin/Miriam/Ronald/Cookies?! They may as well name it an EEG-Gala-Event. (OK, I'm being rude - but I'm still annoyed. How can it be complete without GL artistes?! Just when Justin may have a chance to sing with everybody else instead of being stuck *behind* all the others)

Poor Leo's Injured!

The last show of ‘森美小儀歌劇團Big Nose’ musical was held on Monday night. Miriam Yeung performed with ecstasy while Leo Ku, who was injured during rehearsals, had to perform in a wheelchair. But Leo, as a professional entertainer, span around in his wheelchair throughout the show and wheeled himself to the edge of the stage to be in close contact to the audience. This caused those on stage to be scared and pull him back.

When thanking the audience at the end of the show, Miriam seemed to be over the moon. When asked if it had anything to do with rumoured boyfriend, Justin Lo’s attendance, Miriam expressed that she did not know that Justin would attend and was naturally surprised when she saw him. Miriam commented, “We have nothing between us, so why would we be afraid of people talking! I believe that he has come to support Sammy Leung.’

On the night, not only did Justin watch the performance, singers, Joey Yung and Denise Ho were also seen sitting next to each other to watch.

It's been really quiet here so I decide to post something to get everything back in the 'scooping' mood. Last week, Leo was on Jade Solid Gold (JSG) singing "Love Too Late" and he had a cross-over with Bianca Wu singing the jazz version of Miriam's song "Dai Sing Siu See" and there was one more, which I forgot the name of the song. Leo Ku, Alex Fong, Stephanie Cheng, Nancy Sit and Toby Leung recently attended the ‘Metro Charity K Singing Marathon Competition’. Leo, who has been rehearsing with Joey for their concert, injured his hamstrings and could be seen hobbling at the function. When talking about this incident, Leo called himself a ‘weak scholar’ who is not suitable for dancing.

On the other hand, Alex, who has been rumoured to be dating his female assistant, disclosed that they both found the rumours extremely funny. Alex firmly stated that they did not hold hands as they walked to dinner and will not develop into anything more than a friend. (daybee: what's this about Gold Label artistes dating their female assistants?!)

At a radio interview yesterday, Leo talked about his latest album, of which biggest difference compared to previous ones is the addition of a music story directed by him. When asked about his thoughts and feelings, he said," It's like releasing my first album, I'm excited yet nervous. (Will you accept invitation to be MV director for other singers?) I will definitely agree if other singers look for me, it has become my interest and hobby. (Are you willing to do so even if you're unpaid?) I will contribute my remuneration as production fee."

Regarding illegal downloadings, Leo lamented," My effort this time is doubled, for I made a film as well. In addition, it's a golden opportunity to record a duet with Vivian. Please do not download liberally on the Internet, I hope everyone treasures our hard work. I did so much with the hope of convincing people to buy original copies."

On recent rumours of Joe courting another celeb, Leo gave his full support to his good friend and said," Joe is not such a person. The fact that he planned a surprise for Vivian in her concert shows that their relationship is very strong. His heart has two sides, one for his career, the other for Vivian."

When mentioned about Gillian's unfortunate incident, Leo said he will definitely support the celebrities' proposal of a demonstration. He added," This incident is really too much. (What are your prevention measures?) I am already careful. Since the starting of inethical actions by paparazzi few years back, I always minimise the brightness of lights in hotel rooms whenever I travel. They won't be able to take any pictures in the dark. Regarding spying on artists, I think there is a need to introduce legislation, and also to legally control the many spyware used these days."

Home from an engagement party and getting ready to leave once again... but before I do, I make a call to the CD shop out in the City.
"Leo, CD, is it in yet?"
"It's at the international airport waiting for clearance," says the CD shop dude.
"So will it be in tonight?" I ask eagerly.
"Where do you live? Call us again later tonight," says the CD shop dude not wanting to loose a customer.
"Don't wory, I'm going to be out there tonight, I'll pop in to check! THANKS, Bye!" I ramble excitedly...

8:00pm
I pop in...
"Leo CD?"
"huh..."
"Leo Ku... 我生"
"..."
"古巨基..."
"You'll have to wait... (looks at watch) 20 minutes. It's coming back from the airport now," the CD shop dude explains.

9:15pm
"Leo CD? Is it here yet?"

"Here it is," says another voice.
"Oooh, 2 or 3 copies?"
"Four la," says someone... @_@

"The only reason why we've got it here tonight is because of you," says the CD dude.

Leo Ku Sings About the Stages of Life

Leo's new Cantonese album is to be released these few days. The production crew remains unchanged as previous albums, with Jan Lamb as art director and 夏永康 as photographer. At an art exhibition opening ceremony yesterday, Leo talked about their trip to Japan earlier on.

As the upcoming album talks about Life, the crew wanted a natural background in order to give a refreshing feeling to the soul, and hence they chose 日光瀑布 (a waterfall in Japan) as the photography spot.

The recording company found an adorable Japanese toddler and a senior citizen to take pictures with Leo, so as to represent three different stages in life. Leo said," The kid is very cute, he has natural curly locks, just like 小吉 (the character in IQ Professor). How nice it would be if I could have a child like him in future."

On the day of photoshooting, the kid's parents and grandparents came along to accompany him. The crew took off early in the morning at 6am as the ride from city to the waterfall requires 2 hours. Tired due to the long journey, the small boy cried upon arrival, while Leo had to cheer him up. Unexpectedly, the boy's father carried him suddenly and threw the boy in the air, and even made him do stunts like hanging upright. The boy immediately laughed hysterically, Leo, on the other hand, was left gaping in awe. Thereafter Leo had to use a piece of cake (which was his breakfast) as bait to lure the kid, only then he 'compromised' to play with Leo. Leo joked," I just realised 小吉 doesn't like to eat metal but cakes."

He added," I hope this album serves as an enlightenment to my listeners. The first song <我生> represents the birth of a baby, while the last song is titled <往生> (translate: Past Life), the songs in between talk about different feelings in different stages of life."

Woot ! Sucha nice song and now its a duet ?! ^^ Can't wait to hear AND watch the MV ^^
At a radio interview yesterday, Leo talked about Vivian's involvement in 愛得太遲 MV. He said," The MV depicts Vivian and I love each other too late, therefore there are many scenes which required us to cry due to painful sufferings. I'm really grateful to the beauty this time, she cried for two full days! Although she hasn't been acting for some time, she could still deliver a superb performance, for example different styles of crying (tough vs. vulnerable). Her eyes were totally swollen thereafter and she even had headache. But the overall effect of the MV is very good."
Vivian, who has not recorded any songs for more than 10 years, accepted Leo's invitation for a duet version of 愛得太遲. Leo said," Vivian has not given me such a big birthday gift throughout these 10 years! She actually likes this song a lot, and even saved it in her mobile phone after finishing the MV. She even claims to have listened to it more times than me!"
He added that Vivian likes the song for its content which talks about a variety of love. Although this is their first duet, the recording process was so smooth that it was completed within a night.
When asked if Vivian is being paid, Leo replied," We did not mention about this issue. (So how are you repaying her favour?) I'll sacrifice myself to her (ie marry her). (Are you hinting that her relationship with Joe is on the rocks?) No, they're still good together now. Treating her a meal is too insignificant, being her slave is fine too!"
